Supervision

My Story

I've been a forensic photographer, a forensic interviewer and a child welfare worker. I knew early on that burn out for these positions were high and I needed a back up plan. As soon as I got my MSW, I started working for community mental health leading the mental health crisis team. I was able to expand the team by adding positions, significantly reduce acute psychiatric hospitalizations, significantly reduce patients having to get to a point where their mental health was so significant that they were being taken to the ER and I worked collaboratively with community partners to make it all happen. After developing PTSD from this role, I moved into a therapist position. I started MB Counseling, LLC in 2021.

Along the way, I have provided supervision for both people still in their program and going through internships and for therapists wanting to move along to licensure. So here is the big question, why choose someone outside of your agency to provide supervision?

1) Some agencies will make you sign a contract that you will commit to working for them for a specific number of years if they provide supervision towards licensure. Skip it!  It is my belief that agencies should want clinically developed therapists without tying you down which is a win-win for both the agency and the therapist. You have a choice, you do not need to feel pressured into signing a contract if you want to be licensed.​

2) Who you pick to provide your supervision is who molds you into the therapist you want to be.

3) Perhaps you want to join a private practice before you are licensed, but this would require you to work towards licensure.

​

4) Let's dream together! I want you to become the therapist you want to become. I want you to have the life you want to have. I will help clinically develop you while also helping you accomplish your end goal! So let's start with the first question: What would your ideal life look like? What would your ideal career look like? Let's make it  a reality!

Rates

Individual supervision: $100.00 per session.

Group supervision (2 or more people): $75.00/person/session
